The Liebster Award Nomination

“The Christ of Christmas offers Himself as an all-sufficient Savior to all who have needs, to all who feel lost and are without hope.”

– Sinclair Ferguson

Hey guys! I know it’s been a long time since I’ve done an award, but I was just nominated for the Liebster Award by Joy. This is the comment she sent me:

Greetings, blogger! I have nominated you as one of my favorite blogs for the Liebster Award in recognition of your contributions to the blogging community. Even if you don’t do the whole awards thing, please receive this comment as a token of appreciation for your efforts.

Thank you for the nice comment and nominating me for this award Joy. You can find Joy’s Liebster Award post here. Let’s get into it shall we?

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog
  2. Answer the 11 questions given to you
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers
  4. Ask your nominees 11 questions
  5. Notify your nominees once you have uploaded your post

Joy’s Questions

  1. Let’s start off with a controversial topic: Is classical music boring?

For the most part classical music isn’t boring but it depends on who is playing it. If there were no conductor though it would be absolutely boring and awful.

2. Do you like anchovies? If you don’t, why not? If you do, would you like to be classified as an endangered species? (No hate to anchovy-lovers; I am in fact one myself.)

I’ve never had them so I can’t say.

3. Any TV series you’ve binged lately?

Nope my family doesn’t watch TV, thankfully.

4. What’d you do during quarantine? Was it fun?

Well here’s some of the things I did: I had fun with my cousins, played basketball and soccer, helped with chores on the farm until December 2020, tried to keep in a music schedule, made videos, painted, drove side by side when I could get my hands on it, etc. It was mostly quite fun!

5. What’s you favorite color combination? (Not to be confused with the notorious favorite color question.)

Red and white.

6. What song describes your life currently? (Not to be confused with the notorious favorite song question.)

It’s Gonna Be Okay by the Piano Guys. Lol

7. Okay, now think of your favorite song. If it were made into a candle, what would the scent be?

Amazing Grace and maybe it would smell like orange? Sound and smell aren’t exactly synonymous.

8. Okay, now think of your favorite candle scent. If it were made into a song, what would it sound like?

I don’t really have a favorite candle scent so I’m not sure about that one.

9. How often do you get your hair cut?

Get my hair cut? Lol Probably once every three months.

10. You have been shoved onto the dance floor by complete strangers at a wedding. (To clarify, this is someone else’s wedding, not yours. We would hope there would be no complete strangers at your own wedding.) What do you do?

I wouldn’t be very happy and tell them to kindly not shove.

11. What were you like three years ago? How would you rate this previous version of yourself on a scale of one to five stars?

Well when I was 14 three years ago I was probably less mature in my walk with Christ than I am now and I hopefully become more like Christ day by day. I would probably rate myself a three star back then.

My Questions

  1. Are you a proud resident of the province or state you’re living in? If not what do you think should change to make it a better place?
  2. Do you have a Favorite pet?
  3. What are your favorite outdoor and indoor winter activities?
  4. Is there one event in your life that has changed you since?
  5. Do you have a favorite Bible verse and how has it impacted your life?
  6. Favorite book of the Bible?
  7. Which food is better in your opinion: hamburgers or hot dogs?
  8. What is the purpose of your blog?
  9. When did you start your blog?
  10. Do you prefer the country or city in December for going on a drive?
  11. Favorite character in your favorite book?

    1. Hey no problem! I hope the questions aren’t too boring; I’m no good at communicating my thoughts in writing. Lol
BTW, did you know Colton’s short film is being premiered on YouTube December 25th?

      1. Oh really? That’s funny. Are you quite an effective oral conversationalist?
I ask because I’m the opposite. I can better present my thoughts in written form.

I did not. That’s cool. You’ve got me looking forward to it now, lol!
Btw, I heard that you and William are planning on making a short film. Any updates on that?

      2. Yeah something like that but don’t ask me to give a public speech on stage.
Lol! Just doing my part to get the word out!
Maybe William can give you some updates because I’m off to work now.

      3. Hm, interesting. Do you mean you aren’t a good presenter (because you get stage fright or something?) but you are an effective oral converser?

      4. That’s funny. I’m a good conversationalist, but I’m a more effective writer and a better public speaker (with a prepared speech).

      5. Nice.
Dude you should be a lawyer or something since you like debate so much. I heard you started a debate blog?

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Lol, that’s potential, I guess, but I don’t see myself doing that right now.

But yeah, I started a debate blog: thedebatersrefuge.wordpr(etc)
I didn’t want to type out the whole link because then my comment might go to spam. XD

Why? Are you interested in debate?

        Liked by 1 person

      7. Haha! I’ll need to check it out but no I don’t have the time for debating and I don’t really know how to do it.

      8. You don’t know how to debate?
Like, you can follow a logical thought or recognize an illogical thought?

        Liked by 1 person

      9. I can but I’m not very good at it. I know some rules of logic though.

        Liked by 1 person

      10. Sure, I guess that’s fair.
It’s just, debate is not that complicated.
It’s basically just you saying why you believe something is true and then someone else saying why it is that they believe that something is true.
And then, if your “truth” and someone else’s “truth” conflict, you have to try to find out where someone went wrong in their logic.
Sometimes, it’s obvious, sometimes it’s more difficult.
But anyways, I think that debating is not as complicated as it’s jacked up to be.

      11. I followed your debate blog so I’ll read how you guys do it and maybe jump into one sometime.

        Liked by 1 person

      12. Cool; it’ll be awesome to have you!

What do you see as the best advantage of debating?

        Liked by 1 person

      13. Lol Can you prove to me with logical premises that debating isn’t a waste of time?

      14. Premise 1: Understanding the world in which we live is something to strive to attain.
Premise 2: One of the best ways to understand the world in which we live is to converse with others in a constructive manner; perhaps by means of debate.
Conclusion: Debating skills are something to strive to attain because they help us understand the world in which we live.

Can you prove to me using logical premises that debating is a waste of time?

      15. 1. A lot of people do not debate a subjective idea with an open mind and do not consider your opinion.
        2. Trying to show them and move them to your opinion is useless because they won’t listen.
Conclusion: Therefore debating is a waste of time with people who hold a subjective idea with passionate intensity.

      16. Like life gets so busy when you have a full time job… but at least they gave us some Christmas presents (jackets, hoodies etc).

      17. Right, I guess it makes you appreciate the time your parents spend with you a whole lot more.
